Your Hosts

Lifelong members of the Church of the Nazarene, Brian and Kay make their home on the family homestead in Doss, Texas. Brian’s career included service in the USAF as a public affairs officer, and decades of work in higher education public relations, before retiring to the homestead ranch. In his first year back, he helped build The Stillwater, working alongside in its primary construction, then finishing the interior. Ranching, handyman work, and volunteering with the local fire department fill most days to overflowing, but both Brian and Kay find blessing in serving the local church as active laypersons. Kay, an elementary educator, stepped away from that role for 13 years for our two children before returning to the classroom full time. After she retired from teaching, she began volunteer work at the Family Resource Network in nearby Mason, helping expectant mothers and families in the broader community. Both are enjoying their status as Opa and Oma to three grandchildren.
